Why can’t I do this?

I find it really annoying that I don’t have a proper macro lens. Look at this photo – I have the camera, but my lenses won’t let me go this close at all (unless, of course, this insect is much larger than I assume). :-(

    yuck yuck yuck I hate cockroaches! Even if you get the right lens the chances of me allowing cockroaches anywhere near the flat are ZERO!
